This week, San Diego Mesa College kicked off International Education Week by hosting the International Education Exhibitor Fair where students had the opportunity to explore the different ways to get involved and celebrate other cultures. Booths—varying from International Study Abroad programs to language clubs to Martial Arts—decorated Sunrise Plaza for students to see all the options available to them.

San Diego Mesa College has announced the appointment of Dr. Isabel O'Connor as the new Vice President of Instruction. A native of Spain and the first one in her family to graduate from college, Isabel O'Connor earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Alicante before immigrating to the United States in 1986. After learning English at Los Angeles City College, she obtained a B.A. in European Studies at Loyola Marymount University, and a Ph.D. in medieval Spanish history at UCLA.

On Saturday, October 27, San Diego Mesa College Culinary Arts students took 3rd place in the People's Choice category at this year's San Diego Mac n' Cheese Fest. Mesa's Gourmet class entered the 4th annual competition, being the only school to accept the challenge.

This year for the Third Annual Teach-in event, San Diego Mesa College students, faculty and staff gathered to hear professors across multiple subjects present the topic of “Post-truth.” In our digital age, the lines of truth and opinion often become blurred, making it difficult to discern truth. This has created a climate where there is a decreased value on truth and facts, and an increased value on opinion.
